Ultimate guide to Shakespeare's Macbeth

Criteria

I have set a certain criteria in order to judge a range of internet sites on Macbeth. The criteria was developed to be fair and was based on the sites on Macbeth available and what they contained. Each site will be given a score out of 30 on 6 different areas, the quality of the content, scene summaries, scene analysis, character analysis, resources and presentation.

Content: This is based on the quality of the content in the internet site.

Scene Summaries: This is based on the quality of the scene summaries, if a website doesn’t have scene summaries, then it will receive 1 point for that area as all useful internet sites on Macbeth should have scene summaries. The points will be based on if the site covers each scene in enough detail and if it includes every scene.

Scene Analysis’s: This is based on the quality of the scene analysis’s, if a website doesn’t have scene summaries, then it will receive 1 point for that area as all useful internet sites on Macbeth should have scene analysis’s. The points will be based on the site's analysis of each scene; the site should cover the scene thoroughly and in enough detail and point out metaphoric imagery and irony.

Character Analysis’s: This is based on the quality of the charcter analysis’s, if a website doesn’t have character analysis’s, then it will receive 1 point for that area as all useful internet sites on Macbeth should have charcter analysis’s. The points will be based on how well the site analyses each character, (ie. Are the character’s strong and weak points mention, are quotes included, are changes throughout the book noted etc.).

Resources: This will be based on the resources the site offers on Shakespeare and Macbeth. These resources may
include links to other Macbeth sites, study guides, how to write an essay etc. If a site does not offer any resources, then it will receive 1 point because a good site on Macbeth should offer some kind of resources.

Presentation: The website will also be based on its presentation, what is the point of a website that may be excellent but no one can follow or be bothered to try and follow? A website’s presentation is crucial and therefore I have included it in my criteria.

Still can't find the site you need. Try searching with GoTo. The query 'Macbeth' returns a few more sites as well as other resources including books.
